Text Box: October 12th Introduction to Optics
for Your Birding Adventures

At 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12 you may learn all about binoculars, monoculars, and spotting scopes at Runge Nature Center.

Steve and Regina Garr, owners of Birds-I-View, will explain the features of these essential pieces of equipment, how to select optics that meet your needs and discuss new optics technology. Their program will be followed by a River Bluffs Audubon Society business meeting.

Steve has been in the Wild Bird Industry since 1978 and Regina has been helping him since the 80s. They are Life Members of the Hummer/Bird Study Group and the North American Bluebird Society, and their business is a Corporate Sponsor of the North American Bluebird Society.

Steve has been active in banding research dealing with everything from "wintering hummingbirds" to bringing bluebirds back to metropolitan areas. He is the Bluebird Columnist for the "Nature Society News".

The Garrs have helped to establish the newly formed Missouri Bluebird Society and both are officers in that organization.

They do educational seminars for many organizations across Missouri on topics relating to Backyard habitat for Wildlife and give similar presentations nationally to other birding businesses.
