      On Thursday, November 9 a program on photography, a silent auction and dinner are planned by River Bluffs Audubon Society. At 6 PM we will gather at Yen Ching Restaurant, 2208 Missouri Blvd. for dinner and auction,  and then hear Jim Rathert speak on  “A New Direction in Nature Photography: Missouri and beyond” at 7 PM.

      Rathert's illustrated program will feature his new photography. He'll discuss several new projects and share some anecdotes regarding self producing a major calendar.

auction will be  on display and written bids accepted. Funds

raised will help RBAS support a variety of activities.       Jim Rathert's career in conservation has spanned nearly 35 years. The Columbia, MO native worked for the Missouri Department of

Conservation first as a wildlife biologist specializing in non-game birds and for the past 21 year as chief wildlife photographer. His work graced the pages of “Missouri Conservationist”, a magazine with nearly 500,000

Text Box: New Missouri Wetlands Venture Is
Topic of December 14th Meeting
Text Box: Nearly 90 percent of Missouri’s historical 
wetlands have been 
destroyed. On Thursday, December 14  at 7 PM you can learn more about this loss at Runge Conservation Nature Center.
	Come, hear Glenn Chambers tell about a new venture to advance the understanding of wetland habitats,  which waterfowl, wading birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles and many other wildlife depend on.  
	Chambers, famous for his work with otters, is serving as interim coordinator for the Missouri University Wetland Ecology Center of Excellence (WECOE). MU’s College of Text Box: Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources is working to establish this center within the School of Natural Resources.
	Chambers will discuss the center’s mission to enhance and sustain state and national wetland resources and associated wildlife. His topic will include ways WECOE, with partners in state and federal government and the private sector,will advance
