May Morning Greenway Stroll - Take your binoculars on a walk along Wears Creek. Bird watching on the Greenway near the tennis courts for Earth Day was really   nice - lots of goldfinches, a warbling vireo, a pair of phoebes, a ruby crowned kinglet, and a yellow warbler to name a few.  Steve Garr is interested in going again, so if you want to stroll at 7:30 a.m. in the next couple weeks, contact him at Birds-I-View. 
Thursday, May 10 - River Bluffs Audubon Society program “Returning Nature to the River” at 7 p.m. in the Runge Conservation Nature Center’s auditorium. (For more information see story on page one.)

Saturday, May 19 - Trip to the Shultzes near Brazito. Meet early so we can can catch the peak of bird activity before having breakfast. Susie and Tom will have coffee, orange juice, fruit, sausage muffins, and donuts. Gather at the Lottery parking lot at 6:45 a.m. to carpool, or drive directly to the Shultzes. Go to Brazito on Hwy 54, left on Hwy E, then right on Deer Run, then left on Landing Creek Road to mailbox #2826 (they will have signs up). Binoculars and bird-identification guides are helpful on the birding trips. In warmer weather bring 
drinking water.
t Trips will go rain or shine; after all, some of the best birding is in “fowl” weather.
