Text Box: On Thursday, April 10 River Bluffs Audubon Society will host its spring banquet and silent auction at Yen Ching Restaurant. The silent auction and dinner, will begin at 6 p.m.

our state; yet, some have been re-created close to Jefferson City. Come learn why Stucky, retired from the Missouri Department of Con-servation, made the

effort. He will tell about his experiences in replicating this type of habitat, his rewarding results and how similar areas may be created in urban environments like your own backyard.

      A program will follow around 7 p.m. Brad Jacobs, Missouri Department of Conservation, will speak about protecting migratory birds and how state agencies are developing partnerships outside their state's boundaries with conservation-minded agencies and organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

      Missouri and other partners have several projects in Latin America, including Mexico, Honduras, and in Central America as a

whole.       One project that he will be speaking about will be that of Pico Bonito National Park, where efforts are being made to restore a native habitat corridor and protect an abandoned Honduran Airforce base with dry forest habitat.

      Donated items may be  brought to the silent auction that evening and will be displayed before and during the meal. Written bids for the wide variety of things ranging from decorative to functional will be accepted until the program

begins.

      Proceeds from the silent auction will support conservation efforts at the Pico Bonito National Park in Honduras.
