Todd Eichholz will discuss his experience attracting and managing Purple Martins on Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. in Runge Nature Center. His presentation will include an
update of the colony established in the nesting rack and gourds placed by
River Bluffs Audubon Society at Jefferson City’s McKay Park Todd will
also talk about Barn Swallows, which are facing significant changes to their
traditional highly successful nesting sites. Come hear what they may be

Although “Think globally, act locally,” is a relatively recent slogan, but action on conservation issues in Mid-Missouri has been a priority for many years. On Thursday, April 12 at 7 p.m. we can learn how local efforts have been the key to habitat improvements and other conservation programs in central Missouri. The program will be held at Yen Ching Restaurant, 2208 Missouri Blvd. Dinner and a Silent Auction will be held prior to the presentation. The River Bluffs Audubon annual Outstanding Achievement Award will also be presented. Richard Schroeder, a former conservation agent in Moniteau County, will speak on “Changes in Mid-Missouri Conservation.” Schroeder will provide a historical look at |

changes and challenges of conservation work in this area. He will share his perspective, conservation background, and knowledge of the area in a unique historical look at this part of the state.
