Preliminary information from Brad Jacobs about international efforts for migratory birds, particularly at Pico Bonito research area. Saturday, January 26 - Meet at 3 p.m. at the State Information Center, 600 W. Main,  for half-hour trip to Bradford Farm, east of Columbia. Walk/ride around and look for sparrows, longspurs, etc., and stick around until the light fades to look for short-eared owls. Trip dependent on the weather.  Contact Rich George, 893-5659.

Friday, February 15 - Monday, February 18 - An article about the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is on page two. t Always call the trip leader so you will know about last-minute changes in plans.
t On all trips bring appropriate clothing, including rain gear, and wear sturdy boots on hikes. 
Binoculars and bird-identification guides are helpful on the birding trips. In warmer weather bring 
drinking water.
t Trips will go rain or shine; after all, some of the best birding is in “fowl” weather.
