Birding in early November could have been cold and miserable. Instead, it was warm and rewarding. Chapter members visited the Standford/Shultz farm near Brazito and thoroughly enjoyed hiking through fields and woods.

Our thanks to Tom and Susie Shultz who hosted the group with some refreshments. Because of the mild weather, people were able to sit outside at picnic tables! A good assortment of woodpeckers and other birds were seen on this wonderful outing. However, one of the most amazing sights was a field where a whole flock of leaves swirled and danced their way to the ground. It was a perfect fall day in Missouri for being outside.
