Note
to Field Trip Participants:
Always call the trip leader so you will know about the last-minute changes in plans. On all trips bring appropriate clothing, including rain gear, and wear sturdy boots on hikes. Binoculars and bird-identification guides are helpful on the birding trip. In warmer weather bring drinking water. Trips will go rain or shine; after all some of the best birding is in "fowl" weather. Be aware of hunting seasons. Refer to the Missouri Department of Conservation web page for current hunting seasons and other information. Avoid wearing these colors during the following hunting seasons: Turkey season: red, white, blue and black. Monthly Meetings: The River Bluffs Audubon Society meets at 7:00 pm on the second Thursday of each month from September to May at the Runge Nature Center on Hwy 179 one half mile north of Hwy 50 in Jefferson City, Missouri. Guest speakers discuss birds, wildlife, the habitat which supports them, and other environmental issues. The public is welcome at these interesting and educational meetings. The program meetings are followed by socializing and a general membership meeting. |
